THE OLYMPIC GAMES: FRESNO 2020

Hello super champions!!! How are you feeling today? We hope you are full of energy and ready to practise some sports and learn about an important event: The Olympic Games!!!

  • The Olympic Games are celebrated every 4 years, this year 2020 was Tokyo's turn to host the games. They have now been postponed to next year 2021.
  • There are Summer and Winter Olympics and the sports played in each are different.
  • The five colors of the Olympic rings (blue, black, greenyellow and red) were chosen because every country in the world has at least one of those colors in their flag. The rings represent 5 of the world's continents🌎: AfricaAsiaOceaniaEurope and America, linked together in friendship.
  • At the beginning of the games a flame🔥 is lit in the opening ceremony. The flame begins in Olympia (Greece) and is passed from torch to torch until the location of the games is reached.
  • Men and women from all over the world compete to win the gold🥇, silver 🥈 and bronze 🥉 medals.
  • There is usually an Olympic mascot that represents the games and the country they are celebrated in. When the Olympic Games were celebrated in Barcelona in 1992 we had an olympic mascot named Cobi.

Some of the activities you can do related to the Olympic Games are the following:

  • Colouring any of these olympic themed pictures:

  • Some arts and crafts with the olympic symbols:

  • Counting and adding to revise numbers:

*Para estas worksheets necesitáis tener unos dados para jugar. La de las medallas es para identificar y decir el número que sale en el dado y la de los aros se juega con dos dados haciendo la suma entre los dos números que salen. Para repasar la suma diríamos por ejemplo: (4 + 5 = 9) four plus five equals 9 nine.

  • Play memory with these sports cards:

  • Imagine you are an olympic athlete and you will compete next year in Tokyo 2021, draw and write about your flag, your event or sport and what would you do to celebrate your win:

Here is some inspiration and remember that the games never end!!!:

We hope you have fun this week learning about the Olympic Games and practising different sports...who knows, maybe some day you become a famous athlete and win a medal!!! For us you have been true champions these past months, we will always be very proud of all of you🏆.

Lots of love and take care,

Your English Teachers💗

Storytelling: PEACE AT LAST

HELLO SUPER BOYS AND GIRLS!!!

How are you feeling this week? We hope you are all doing great, enjoying the sunny days we have for these days😎.

Another Wednesday has come to share with you another amazing story in English. This week our story is titled PEACE AT LAST, written by Jill Murphy. En esta historia, acompañaremos a Mr. Bear que tiene una noche un tanto movida. No consigue encontrar un lugar donde poder dormir y descansar, así que visitará todas las estancias de su casa hasta que al final… ¿lo logrará?

We will see different topics on this week’s story:
  • FAMILY: Mr Bear (DADDY), Mrs Bear (MUMMY), BABY BEAR
  • PARTS OF THE HOUSE: BEDROOM, BATHROOM, KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, GARAGE, GARDEN
  • COMMON WORDS: Plane, door, pillow, blanket, clock, refrigerator, tap, car, Sun, alarm clock, breakfast, cup of tea.
  • ANIMALS: bear, hedgehog, cat, owl, birds
We hope you enjoy the story and see if Daddy Bear can go to sleep in the end...

You can also try singing with this lovely bear family:

Or doing some of these activities related to the story, remember you can do them together with you family:

With this song you can learn the different parts of the house and if you want you can tell us which is your favourite room of the house...or maybe share with us a picture of yourself going to sleep and saying "Peace at last!".

We hope you like this week's story and enjoy exploring your house looking for its different sounds and parts.

Don't forget to send us your photos, they are fantastic and it's lovely to see you every week.

We miss you a lot, we send you all tons of love,

Your English Teachers💕

THIS IS YOUR FANTASTIC WORK FROM THIS WEEK'S STORY, THANKS TO ALL FOR PARTICIPATING AND DOING IT SO GREAT!!!
